it certainly has for me; I mean I really can't believe it - I no longer say things that could qualify as racist, sexist, discriminatory, illegal, abusive, whatever - not even with my closest acquaintances. Such remarkable control is unbelievable.

Yahoo answers did play its part though. I even afraid of making jokes as mostly, they revolve around some stereotypes.

But at the end of the day, there is satisfaction that at least I am not offending any individual!

Cheers on that note.

bring back Alf Garnet, Love Thy Neighbour and all those other tasteless but innocent slights on a piece of British history now dead and buried, and not for the good. Now, we have to be afraid of everyone and everything. Someone recently said that we used to be frightened of Charles Manson. Now we are frightened of the avarage man. This might be your neighbour, postman, milkman, dentist, the women who work in your office and even your friends. Now we mustn't offend anyone. Why not? Life is about challenges, changes and the diversity that exists between people. You can't be diverse and be PC at the same time. Being PC negates diversity. We may as well not exist as seperate cultures. If we carry on this way, we will have reched the end of the line as humans because our differences and our freedoms to defend those freedoms will have vanished......and for what?

As Stephen King says in 'On Writing' you could desire to stay genuine to the character, no count what. if your character cusses like a sailor then so be it. if your character says racist issues then that would desire to return by using interior the debate or narration. All of those issues are character progression. this does not advise which you the author behave that way or think of those issues, it incredibly is in basic terms the character you created. Now, there is a superb line in over doing it. a stable author knows a thank you to selection it. working example, in spite of if your character is profane and belligerent, you comprehend a thank you to place in writing it in considered one of these way that doesn't overdo it, so as which you particularly don't have that a lot profanity on your e book. you could coach that profanity and your character bypass hand-in-hand devoid of having your character cuss in each and every little bit of talk. you could desire to comprehend a thank you to enforce it properly is all i'm saying. stable writers comprehend a thank you to do this, newbie writers are nevertheless getting to grasp.

Yeah it does have an impact. In the workplace, in particular you have to really watch what you say. Personally I think you can actually cause more offence by trying to be too PC, because your awkwardness can rub off on the 'minorities' it's supposed to protect and in turn make them feel they have got something to apologise about, something that makes them 'different'.

I wanted to become a Fireman I was told by the recruiters not to bother because they were searching for Ethnic Minorities not because they were better for the Job but because the Government put a target on PC Britain to employ more people from ethnic backgrounds. "Discrimation" is wrong no matter who gets discriminated against.

Yes telling the kids who constantly kicked my door and rang my door bell on their way to the playing field to clear off. Pc had an impact on me as the parents objected to me telling their little darlings off. I could do nothing about it formally because of all this PC rubbish.

So you're happy to have lost your freedom? Poltical correctness is nothing short of 1939 Nazisim...except it's wrapped up in supposedly fuzzy warm feelings. PC is just another step backwards in our decline of western civilization.
