I am amazed as the number of people here who are and remain so passionate about things that are said about the president by others. Cursing, arguing, attacking!

It's just a forum for godssake! We're not writing a thesis or authoring new legislation!

At most, maybe 150 - 200 people come to this forum on any given day? There are about 300 million people in the United States.
Don't you think it is time to
Relax!

I agree with you completely. There was always Clinton bashing... God was there ever... but still the cons try to protect baby Bush. If anyone deserves a bashing it is him!!!

And it will happen again.. to the new Democratic president too.

Most likely the next president will be a Democrat. The war in Iraq is very unpopular and the Republicans will get the boot because of it.

This will calm all the anti-war folks because the first thing the new Democrat President will do is start coming up with dates when the troops will be pulled out.

Their approval rate will soar!

Then in 2-3 years we will experience another 9/11 type attack and the president will be forced to take some action. Democrats like to launch missiles (Clinton did it quite a bit).

Our enemies will be enraged even further and our credibilty in the worldwide political scene will be damaged. The american people will get tired of the president's inabiltiy to stop terrorist activity in and around our country. Approval rate will drop to a new low.

People will start to wonder why we can't just send in the troops like Bush did and attack the terrorist's where they live and breed.

Our economy will surely take a sharp down turn - think gas prices are high now? (Remember Jimmy Carter's problems with OPEC?) Shortages and embargos are on the horizon! How about 5 - 7 bucks a gallons by 2010?

By election year 2012 people are sick of a president who thinks things can be settled by talk alone (and a missile launch or two once in a while to make a point heard) and elect a Republican President.

Troops are sent into hot spots. Things at home start to calm down, economy starts to recover.....and it all starts over again - a big vicious cycle.

I hope I'm wrong but don't think so.

Bashing the President, or criticizing the President, depending on who is doing the criticising, is currently a common political strategy. On the one hand, some people (they know who they are) are able to criticize and be specific about it. For instance, when FBI files went missing, when overnight fortunes were made in cattle futures, when pardons were offered for sale, when extra marital sex in the White House was, for the first time in history, exposed to the light of day, critics on one side of the aisle could be very detailed about the violations of law and good taste, and they had every right to. Then a new President came along who conducted himself in a different manner. That's when the bashing started. Bashing occurs when the basher cannot find any concrete, specific fault, other than the sitting president has different political and moral beliefs. Higher standards if you will. Since the basher has no way to argue his/her beliefs, the only recourse is to deal in generalities, such as "he's a moron", "can't speak english properly", "he's like Hitler", and on and on. But there are never anything but vague generalities. When criticizing an opponant during an election campaign, without being able to prove it, is the only tactic employed, that speaks volumes about their own lack of positive claims to deserving the office. This forum can serve as an educational tool to the benefit of those who have, shall we say, been mis-educated by formal educators. Or it can be used to spew hatred and death wishes. We see plenty of people on both ends of the intellectual spectrum. Some posts are interesting and informative. Others are just the screeching of the ignorant trying to impress others of the same ilk. That's America. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I agree, but don't get your hopes up for that kind of civility in this type of forum. Remember, there are no barriers to entry other than Internet access. Education, experience, judgment, IQ, and motivation all vary drastically. In general, half the people you encounter are 'below average'. The ratio tends to be a little higher in these forums since a percentage of the frequent posters have nothing better to do. It is the hallmark of a tiny mind to be easily whipped into a frenzy - and to react with a lot of bluster.

It wouldn't be so bad if it were contained to just this forum but you see it in the media, holiwood, in the news, in the schools, everywhere! It's so out of proportion to what is normal that the morale in this country is being destroyed as well as causing division! I think on here people have the chance to speak out where as it doesn't go anywhere else!

The Republicans are only reaping what they sowed. They spent 8 years criticizing Clinton and now that the shoe is on the other foot, they are crying like a bunch of babies that their guy is being bashed. Too bad.

So much of the bashing on Bush is pure hate.
Neo-Cons never hated Bill Clinton, just a genuine dislike. So the bashing was on facts, not emotions.

Of course it will...that's why this country is worth fighting for. In other countries, if you speak out against the fearless leader than you disappear in the middle of the night. Bashing the President is American as apple pie...and this president is a great one to pick on.

I feel very relaxed, when I do my bush bashing, can't wait for the next president to take his place and provide me with new material.

It would not be as bad if the people bashing the president actually got some facts first, but instead they listen to some liberal piece of crap like mikey moore and go on diatribes based on what these freaks feed them

Bush Bashing is one thing. It is Americans right and duty to do so.
Making up lies and wishing for his death has gotten way out of line. Read some of the stuff, not all mind you, but some of the stuff is rediculous.
I disliked Clinton immensly, yet would NEVER wish for his death, or make things up about him.
There is a difference.
