I have a debit card that can be used as a mastercard, can I still sign up for a cell phone contract using this card?

Using a debit card with a mastercard or visa logo is acceptable at any store or retailer. Just remember that when you activate for cell phone service, they will require a credit check with your name, address, drivers license and social security.

If your credit score is low then the cell phone company will require a deposit on top of your cell phone purchase. If you credit score is great then there shouldn't be any problems. You can use your debit card to make a purchase of a new phone.
