I haven't heard of anyone mentioning any hatred of Malcolm X.... well, other than you.
Besides, I didn't even know the man. How can I hate someone I don't even know?

So, why do you hate Malcolm X so much?

But seriously.... fear is sometimes disguised as hate. He was changing the lives of not just minorities, but the whites around them. People don't like their lives changed. Even some blacks resisted this because of their fear of change. They would rather stay in an known environment that is comfortable to them. You can see this with people who complain about a job or a boss, but never seek any other position or work place. MANY people just like to be comfortable, even if its' while being in a bad situation. They choose the devil they know.

Malcolm hated all white people. One of his famous quotes was "I am one quarter white and I hate every bit of white blood in me". Many black people were uncomfortable with him because he fought every step of the way against integration. He just wanted separation of the races. He was really a black "segregationist". The Clan must have loved him. He was against everything that Dr. King and most civil rights leaders were fighting for. He was undermining their position. Also he was opposed to the main body of the "Black Muslims and their leader Elijah Mohammed. He had formerly been their main spokesman. He was taking people away from them. The tragedy is that since his pilgrimmage to Mecca he was coming around to a more moderate position when they killed him. He ran out of time. I will say this much for him he was charismatic.

oh i don't think the word 'hate' should be used. you might try some of these: distrust, misunderstanding, failure to communicate, blind-sightedness, racial intolerance. this, by the way, applies not only to malcolm x but FROM malcolm x. towards the end of his life, he realized the unrest & intolerance was in him as well. since love & hate is the same coin but different sides, his vision was clouded by lack of cultural understanding & vision. too bad he didn't live longer as he was just beginning to broaden his horizons and see that not only blacks but native americans & other ethnic groups were treated with less than respect and sadly within their own groups. ah! if we were all born smart....! anyway, the people who greatly disliked malcolm x were scared of his way of thinking, some within his own racial group, as he could've upset their own plans. he was very demonstrative, you must agree. he, like most people of his ilk, was seen with different eyes than those of today.

I don't think people do at all. He was once a black supremist who saw the errors of the philosophy and paid dearly for repudiating it. He was shot to death in front of his wife and children by the Black Muslims. He just didn't live long enough to make a difference in the philosophy of Martin Luther King, namely, peaceful resistance.

Chow!!

I don't think they hate him. There's lilltle understanding of what he was about and some people only recognize the name, but know nothing about him. I'd say he's seriously underestimated.
