No, I feel that the administration lying to us was far more detrimental to us than anything from the liberals.
Most of the liberals I've talked to (and most of the conservatives as well) would rather we were in Afghanistan doing what we should have been doing in the first place, going after bin Laden and al Qaeda, not chasing some tin-pot dictator in Iraq. Had we done that from the beginning, most would be back home with their families now and UBL and AQ would be footnotes in history and the political situation in the Middle East would be much more stable.
Tiki does have a point, especially as it applies to officers. Enlisted folks can get away with making comments about the administration (up to a point) but commissioned officers are barred by law from making any derogatory comments about the Commander in Chief. Several flag officers (Generals and Admirals) felt the need to retire in order to voice their opinions against the administration. My hat goes off to them for the strength of their convictions a well as to their adherence to military law while on active duty.

No, not at all. Everyone has a right to their own opinion. I served in this war and I would have to say that at least 50% of the people I encountered did not want us there. This war is definitely not easy on us and it probably should have never been.

OK well I'm sure half are liberal and half are conservative. The military can't speak against the commander in chief. The military says what they are told. Once you sign up you sign away your rights, you have no more freedom of speech, your opinion no longer matters. Don't you understand that those Generals on TV who say we need to stay in Iraq are made to say that.
Spell my name right and you need to watch who you insult you little asshole, I'm a veteran of the Iraq war USMC. You show some respect you ungrateful son of a *****. You don't understand that is the way it is in the military. I'm not insulting I'm telling facts. I've been there, done that.
Thanks for your comment Bostonianinmo. I appreciate you saying that.

My dad is a fighter pilot in the air force stationed in Iraq. He says all the media and liberals should go to hell. The troops dont mind being over seas. They signed up to be in the military and SERVE THERE COUNTRY. That is why they are in Iraq right now, serving the country they put there lives out for. They wouldnt be in the armed forces if they were not willing to do so. They DONT want to come back until the job is done. These people back in america have NO idea what it is like. It is not there place to say "Oh our poor troops need to get out of there" or "We are wasting their lives" They watch too many movies dissing the war, they forget why we are there in the first place.

No, chickenhawk neocons are.
"As you know, you go to war with the Army you have ... not the Army you might want or wish to have at a later time."
---Donald Rumsfeld in response to the troops not having the equipment and body armor to do their job properly and protected.

Former soldier here!
I would like to say that although I don't agree will all the liberal viewpoints, I would like to thank them for caring for our troops enough by wanting them to come home.
A neo-con is willing kill thousands of our young men and women so that they can put more $$$$ in the bank. They are just using our troops for the greenbacks, prestige and political gain.

Definitely. The left-wing libs are THE biggest threat to our country - the drive by media, the lefty politicians and, most of all, the wacko liberal judges who are more concerned with the welfare of our enemy than the common sense safety of our country. I agree we need to get out of Iraq, but we also have to get MUCH tougher with terrorists. They deserve the same rights they afford our troops...NONE!!!!! I am retired Navy and have a son in the Navy and one in the Army in Iraq.

Yes, just as much as the troops who would rather be home with their families.
and just as much as people who cheer about using 10,000 troops to kill 30 insurgents are. that should give them a big head, that it takes 334 Americans to kill 1 terroist. that is the kind of stuff you usually don't brag about.

As a Vietnam vet, being called a murderer and other assorted nasties kind of sucked. Our morale did suffer greatly from the liberals anti-war movement.

I'm not in the military (sorry) but I think it depends whether you're referring to the war on terror, or the war on the war on terror.
