I don't have cable so I can't tell you if they mentioned it. As a general observation, however - and I know this has been mentioned on this forum many times - sports casters in the U.S. really under report soccer. The sports media, and to a lesser extent, the population generally have little interest in the game. Sad but true.

I wish there was something in the news about the US beating Brazil 2-1. I don't think it was given much if any attention by the media because it was a first round match. It was a final match I think it would mentioned. I also think that the media needs to be encouraged to at least mention things like that so the public is aware of it. Our media is also very biased and is good at manuplating the public. They have a tremendous amount of influence on the public. A majority of the public in the US don't care about soccer or don't care much or enough about it. The media is the same way. They're not going to report on something that the majority of people aren't going to care about or have a great deal of interest in. Having a media like that, that does a very poor job in reporting about soccer is not going to help the sport become more popular here in the the US. I've been disappointed in the media for years because of this. They've let me down. Something needs to be done to encourage the media to report on soccer, especially when something like the US beating Brazil happens. Soccer needs to become more popular in general, here in the US for the media to start reporting on it and taking the sport seriously.

This was actually predicted in a few posts im sure Blue saw and can attest to as well. Im sure 80%+ of the US population wasnt even aware (and still arent) that theres even a U20 WC, let a- freakin-lone that the US have a competitive team in it. A handfull likely found out by accident flipping channels where a small minority of US soccer fans cared enough to begin with. As some other poster pointed out before, youd likely hear about Michael Vick having a fight with his dog over the huge win for the US. As absurd as his sarcasm may have sounded, his point was absolutely correct.

The US did not beat Brazil, the US beated Brazil in a U-20 match, that's different. Even Gambia defeated Brazil in under age matches.

Obviously, we all missed it.
This would have been a great opportunity to tell the rest of the Americans about this feat, then maybe there would be a slight chance that they( the American football crowd and the likes) watch the other matches.

Well it was in the Under20 World Cup (players must be under 20 years of age) which is not as prestigious as the senior national team events. As for ESPN not mentioning, what did you expect? They would surely let us know if the US lost.

Because Brazilians don't want to hear about it. And Americans don't care much.
