I saw one by my house but I didn't get a very good look at it...and I'm a little concerned.

Overall black bears are not something you really need to worry about. They are one of those species that will try and avoid humans as much as possible.

That is not to say they will not come around to check things out, it just means that they are less of a problem species unlike browns, grizz and polar.

As far as size goes they can top out around 400lb but most females will stay around 150-200. However that can change depending on the time of year and location.

150 pounds to 250...since it's a bear you might call your local conservation agents so they know that a black bear has been spotted in an urban area.
