If it had a gasket on it in the beginning it needs a gasket now.

Use a gasket. There are very few vehicles that use only silicone instead of gaskets. The only manufacturer that I know of that is silicone crazy is Nissan and they silicone everything.

Sure.
The automobile manufacturers just put those gaskets on to increase the cost of the vehicle.

You can wash your windows with paint too.....

no they would not put one in otherwise.. by the wayi had a 99 Cavalier. except for my Lexmark printer its the worst thing i ever owned.. the engine blew the first week it got worse good luck

not at all. with no gasket at all you'l probably leak all your oil out in a matter of weeks.
