When first joining Verizon, do you get a discount on your first phone?

I have Sprint and when we first joined, we got a $150 discount. Is it the same with all phone packages?

If you are a new Verizon Wireless customer then your first phone you will receive a discount. Normally you will receive a $50 discount off the phone or a mail in rebate that you need to send in. Most popular phones cost between $100-$200 for a 2 year contract. Check online at verizon wireless to see if there are any specials and at your local retail electronic store like Best Buy.

Of course you get a discount on a phone. Most of the phones have mail in rebates of $50 or you can even get a free phone. Just remember that you're getting discounted prices on signing up for a new plan and actual phone costs are twice as much.
