Because we PAY for THEIR healthcare. It isn't even an issue to them.

Maybe if elected officials were required to get their own healthcare, they would think about it more often.

politicians never have to worry about health care so they never think other people do either. But believe me folks you do not want the Government to start running health care. That's what I've got and no I'm not Canadian. I'm an American disabled veteran. It is absolutely abysmal the way they treat us at VA hospitals. Doctors turn over nearly every 6 months so you rarely see the same doctor twice. You wait 6 to 12 months for an appointment, and if they don't have the specialist you need at the hospital you are assigned to, you wait until one is hired. I've been waiting 3 years since my last doctor was deployed to Iraq. Not that I got to see him much when he was here. VA Psychiatric clinics offer no outpatient counseling, none. I asked about this once and my doctor told me that pills were cheaper than time. I've been stuck in this system for 10 years, and yes it sucked just as bad under Clinton as it does under Bush. Don't be in a hurry to get Government run Health care.

As I am sure they don't have to even think twice , quite surely they have the triple Gold Plans (my own term ). I don't think one can have empathy as they usualy come from wealthy backgrounds , how can they have any empathy for hard working , law abiding citizens ... who either cannot afford or are not offered insurance through employment ... unless you want to pay 375.00 a month for a family plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield , Dental is worse yet , at least one can go to the emergency room for medical situations , they are required by law to treat you , even if you have no insurance ,of course that doesn't mean they have to treat you right , believe me I can show legal proof of incorrect treatment ie. going to an e.r. for a very serious intestinal disease , being given a sprite to "calm" my diseased intestines , a brown paper bag , to breathe into so I don't "hyperventilate" , discharge papers and last but not least a bill to Medicare in excess of 500.00 dollars !!!!! I attempted to contact Medicare as I found this to be some sort of insurance abuse !

What your really saying is that you want to have an in-grown hair removed , or a broken finger nail repaired at "no " cost to you, the government should pay for it and you go your merry way .Then you turn around and complain that the government is interfering to much in your private life , make up your mind ? you can't have it both ways. And I agree , the free loaders in Washington should have to kick in and pay fo their health care the same as everyone else except Veterans .

U.S. Senators Financially Enslave Americans As Indentured Servants To Big Pharma

Forbidden Cures
http://educate-yourself.org/fc/
There are a number of alternative healing therapies that work so well and cost so little (compared to conventional treatment), that Organized Medicine, the Food & Drug Administration, and their overlords in the Pharmaceutical Industry (The Big Three) would rather the public not know about them. The reason is obvious: Alternative, non-toxic therapies represent a potential loss of billions of dollars to allopathic (drug) medicine and drug companies.

The Big Three have collectively engaged in a medical conspiracy for the better part of 70 years to influence legislative bodies on both the state and federal level to create regulations that promote the use of drug medicine while simultaneously creating restrictive, controlling mechanisms (licensing, government approval, etc) designed to limit and stifle the availability of non-drug, alternative modalities. The conspiracy to limit and eliminate competition from non-drug therapies began with the Flexner Report of 1910.
Abraham Flexner was engaged by John D. Rockefeller to run around the country and ‘evaluate' the effectiveness of therapies taught in medical schools and other institutions of the healing arts. Rockefeller wanted to dominate control over petroleum, petrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals (which are derived from 'coal tars' or crude oil). He arranged for his company, Standard Oil of New Jersey to obtain a controlling interest in a huge German drug cartel called I. G. Farben. He pulled in his stronger competitors like Andrew Carnegie and JP Morgan as partners, while making other, less powerful players, stockholders in Standard Oil. Those who would not come into the fold "were crushed" according to a Rockefeller biographer (W. Hoffman, David: Report on a Rockefeller {New York: Lyle Stuart, Inc., 1971} page 24.)

Because they are out of touch with reality. Politicians have the best health care in the US and don't have a clue about what the proliteriat experiences financially. I think EVERY politician should spend a year living in the lower middle class without health insurance and living paycheck to paycheck. Also, they should all have psychological testing as a condition for running for office; that would eliminate all of the sociopaths before they could be voted in!

The healthcare problem is not an issue of capability, its a question of money. Whatever politicians do, it will hurt somebody, so for now, most of them ignore the question. There are those politicians that try to take advantage of the situation by promising things that are impossible with the hope of getting more votes.

The main question is National Health Care or a continuation of our current distribution of healthcare though Health Maintenance Organization (HMOS), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) and fee for service. All three of these options have limitiations and costs. Basically, the more autonomy the patient has (Fee for Service), the more it cost. If patients want to be limited in their authorized providers, its less expensive but more restrictive (HMOs). Politicians promise either HMOs that are restrictive or promise fee for service coverage that is much too expensive.

I don't want to confuse you with all these facts but managed health care in the form of National Health is in a state of disrepair in England, Germany and Canada. Because patients flood a system of health care that is low cost, doctors are overwhelmed with patient who should in reality take over the counter medications. The result in England, Germany and Canada is patients waiting for months for a routine appointment and years for required surgery. A big problem in England is that when the reimbursements to physicans are at a rock bottom low, you have to import doctors from foreign countries. (The terrorist last week were a bunch of Muslim doctors that didn't have to meet strict immigration requirements.) National Health Care can be overwhelming in cost to taxpayers as well, its truly a horrible option,

But our current option is not good either. We have doctors making hundreds of dollars for a 10 minute appointment, We have hospitals making thousands of dollars for overnight stay. We have insurance executives making hundreds of thousand dollars for attempting to limit health care. And, we have HMOs paying doctors extra fees for cutting down their costs in patient delivery.

The problem is not for poor people or rich people. Rich people can afford health insurance and poor people, the elderly and others who qualify get their coverage from the US Government. The problem lies with middle-class Americans. Middle America who make $40K - 70K a year have the most problems because they can't get it free, but the cost for good coverage can be up to 25% of their income.

Many say our government should have health care coverage for everybody, but these same people are not willing to increase their income tax from let's say 16% of their income to 24% of their income. Imagine paying $32K a year in income tax then having to pay $48K. Heck, a normal person could buy health coverage for an additional $12K a year! But, the increase is to cover everybody, not just you.

Again, this is a very difficult question and such a simple and uninformed question as you ask ignores the complexity behind the question.

exactly so they can start reducing the ridiculous mandates many states put on insurance which drive up the costs. Get the government out of health care before it ends up like Canadas

The answer to that would lie with the insurance companies and drug companies who are donating to campaigns and lining the pockets of many.

Our entire system needs revamping but handing our insurance over to government control is NOT the way to do it. There have to be other alternatives.

Because our taxes pay for their excellent health benefits, why spend taxpayers money on the taxpayer? How else can the wealthy retain their luxurious lifestyles.
