Maybe she has a hidden super power that you haven't learned to value yet. For example, if you're an optimist you tend to respond positively to most things even when life throws you a few curves. A pessimist however, tends to curl up and retreat under even the most benign amounts of pressure. In this limited (and admittedly simplistic) scenario who's likely to be more successful at persevering and coping with things? Most likely the optimist, right? It doesn't mean she doesn't "see" the bad that's all around her she just processes it in a way that allows her to have a healthy interpretation of things and keep on moving. A truly spectacular super power! The good news is, it's available to all of us...we just need to make minor adjustments in how we think and in the things we tell ourselves.

Sometimes people block out the bad because they don't want to feel anything that could hurt them. Try to be understanding of your friend, maybe something happened in the past that scared them but made them look on the positive side of things, which quickly over came their life style. Good luck!

To take off the rose colored glasses needs the courage to overcome fear. Even if it hurts to face the bad and ugly in reality. We need true wisdom to take life as it is.

Because there is soo much evil, corruption, and contempt in this world they just refuse to be a part of it! Just a guess, I don't know any other reason. HEY! "Wake-up America!"
