The plan was killed by the drug companies because they realized they could make more profit by only vaccinating -some- kids, the ones whose parents could afford the high regular prices. And consider that these vaccines are developed at public expense!

This is why the profit motive doesn't serve well in the health care business. The driving motive for health care should be providing health care, not maximizing profits.
