Follow the money! Drug companies and health insurance companies are the two biggest contributors to political campaigns. They are also the two most profitable industries in the US. Every other developed nation allows large health providers (like Medicare and the Veterans Administration) negotiate with drug companies to lower prices on big buys, but not the US.

President Clinton proposed a plan for the fed. govt. to provide vaccinations to children so -all- children could get vaccinated for diseases like tetanus, whooping cough, diptheria, etc. Under the plan the drug companies manufacturing the vaccines would have made a fair profit, but the vaccines would still be very cheap because of the quantities. And he even showed how this would save us money because it costs so much to treat these diseases. The plan was killed by the drug companies because they realized they could make more profit by only vaccinating -some- kids, the ones whose parents could afford the high regular prices. And consider that these vaccines are developed at public expense!

This is why the profit motive doesn't serve well in the health care business. The driving motive for health care should be providing health care, not maximizing profits.

If you truly want to find out about how the FDA is shunning the people in favor of big pharm, go to this site regarding Codex Alimentarius!! Most people have never heard of this comission and how they control what we as citizens are allowed to use to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but rather keep the major $$$ rolling into the big pharm companies!!

under this administration, what did you expect? Everything done by the Government is at the expense of the middle class and poor, to enrich the rich and richer. The entire Iraq war has put so much money into Cheny's pockets, it is disgusting...contracts without bidding to Halaburton (Cheny comes from Haliburton, and he can say what he wants about blind trusts...don't be ridiculous...there is no such thing as a blind trust!
The drug industry here is shameful. People die daily because they cannot afford the med costs...yet it goes on and on. IT is high time that we came out in mass, dumped every money grubbing republican in office, including congress...and don't believe them when they are running as fast as they can away from the Administration...All republicans are the same...money, personal money, and more personal money. They are paid off to do what they do...nothing this party does is without money exchanging hands somewhere down the line. Now, let's talk about emails !!!!

Over course. It's all about the money they can generate for the US government. That's why they are illegalizing all the companies that produce herbal medicines, because they are becoming more and more popular, and people are turning to natural medicine and going away from pharmaceuticals. They are putting all sorts of restrictions and label mandates on these companies and they are putting them all out of business.

confident. there's a circulation right here between fundamentalist nutjobs to rewrite historic previous and declare that the founding fathers in no way meant for there to be a Separation of Church and state. between the main purveyors of those lies is David Barton, who many times looks on Fox information with Glenn Beck. Sarah Palin in a recent debate expressed doubt that the form ensures us Separation of Church and State. She became laughed at via the media who initially theory that she became in basic terms showing how little she is familiar with of the form returned, yet to that end she became in basic terms attempting to unfold those lies. The Texas college board voted to have (between many different perfect wing differences) references to Thomas Jefferson bumped off or decreased. it truly is because of the fact he's the only that coined the word Separation of Church and State. because of the fact the main author of the announcement of Independence and our third president, he's a thorn in the element of people who declare that the founding fathers needed a theocracy. For some reason, those human beings additionally attempt to present day any costs via the founding fathers that point out god as evidence that they have got been christians and hence needed a theocracy. the reality is that maximum of them weren't christians, yet whether they have been, that for the duration of basic terms demonstrates that they felt freedom of religion became significant for the protection of all religions, such as christianity. those fundamentalists, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, see freedom of religion as an attack on christianity, somewhat than a protection for all.
