Hello,
Because history has a nasty habit of repeating itself and being preoccupied with so many socio-finacial matters the average person puts thought on these events on the back burner. Furthermore we never seem to learn by past mistakes.
The Jewish people have done an incredible PR job making sure we do not forget the holocaust but with schools dropping compulsory history courses over the last 20 years are certainly not helping matters.

Genocide is not a new conditon associated with humanity. It had been occurring centuries before the Holocaust, and probably will continue for even longer. Genocide starts with the concept of the "other." If one views someone else's ethnic or religious differences as their sole defining factors, then it is all too easy to objectify them, vilify them, and ultimately destroy them. As to why no one stops it until it is often too late, people are de-sensitized to bad news, and unless the issue becomes more immediate are very slow to act.

Because we "humans" turn our backs on ugly scenarios except on TV and in the movies. Just as with the Holocaust, ignoring these situations allows them to continue. You can bet, however, if this was happening in an oil rich country, there would be some kind of international interference. What does all of this say about the value and worth of the United Nations?

It happens because people don't care enough about other people. Those who commit genocide do not respect the humanity of their victims. Those who could do something to stop it but do nothing also have no love for their victims.
How many here have even asked our government to do something when people were being killed in Rwanda, Cambodia, the Sudan, etc.?

Man's primitive nature. It hasn't changed much since we were crawling around in caves. We just have more advanced technology today.

we all have our own opinions and that itself causes clashes because we are all different. as a result genocide occurs.
