My kitten is stuck 100 feet up in a pine tree.
Someone let all the air out of my tires.
I'm in jail and no one will bail me out.
The dog chewed up all my shoes.
A tree fell across the road.
There's a bat in the house and I'm holed up in my bedroom.
My jerk boyfriend took all the nuts off my wheels.
Someone syphoned all the gas out of my tank.
I have crabs in my eyelashes!
And that's all I can remember. It was a long time ago.

I have a severe flu virus. If I come in I might infect everyone. lol. With my luck, someone would see me shopping or something. I don't really take off work for any reason. Except when I have had one of my surgeries. I just can't afford it.

If you need a day off, just ask. You dont need an excuse! Just ask your boss, (when he's in a good mood, and you've been working a lot lately), "Is it okay if I just have a day off?".
If you DO use an excuse that's not true, your boss will find out. If (s)he doesnt, another employee will and tell your boss. Even if the employee is a good friend.
And when they find out that excuse is fake, you get fired.

A water main broke and my house has been flooded!! I gotta go..... water is everywhere. There is no way I can come into work for at least three more days!!! I'll call you went I get back from Florida.... I mean when I get the water cleaned up!!

I didn't realize they let you go home.. they told me when I started that I wasn't allowed to have a personal life... LOL..
THe best excuse that I have heard around here was- I ran into a COW and I can't come to work....

I stayed home one day because I was so upset over a fued with my sister, I had cried and cried until my eyes looked horrid, and I truly was sick and had a terrible headache, but man I felt guilty and bad for letting it get to me so much I had to call in sick.

I told my boss that I was in a car accident in my friends car, and it was pretty bad. Told her that my friend was hurt worse then me but I was pretty banged up myself...
She insisted that I stay home that day...
There was no accident. I just didn't want to go to work that day!

Never gave any excuses for staying home.
Never. Once i had fever but that does not count for my employer.

once i called out of work and told them that I had gotten an abortion the evening before and the emotional toll was greater than i expected it to be and needed the day to collect my thoughts.
i mean who makes up sh*t like that? it's believable, ya know?
