The first thing to figure out is your computing needs. Laptops are portable and easily move around, while desktops are less expensive and can be easily upgraded. So, figure out whether you need a desktop or laptop first.

You should also consider your computing needs. What applications: Word process, e-mail, chat, games, browsing the Internet. If you are a gamer then figure out the minimum systems requirements for the game you play to figure out what hardware and software you need. Next decide what features are important ... size, weight, display size, battery life, connection method (wifi, cable or modem), etc.

Next decide the budget. How much can you spend.

Once you have the above figured out go check out the models from Dell, HP, Toshiba or Lenovo ... pick two and compare them and then you will be happy with the computer you have chosen as it will meet your needs.

Make a list of your needs for your laptop and let that be your guide in choosing what kind..There are quite a few out there.

The key is knowing what you want...

Good luck

it depends on your needs for the use of the laptop...the best way to decide that is to go on dell.com, configure what you would possibly want/need for your laptop, then research what you built there in stores and online. That would be your best bet on a good laptop for you.
