Has anyone read any of Alastair Reynolds books?

Yes, I've read all the ones currently in print and I think they're amazing. Particularly 'Revelation Space' - it does not have a single likeable character and yet you still care about what happens to them.

Yes, I've read most of them. He's very good at worldbuilding, and describing different futuristic societies. Not very good at characterisation or dialogue, in my opinion.
