don't get me wrong I think she was a wonderful woman I just don't understand why the concert.

It was for her birthday. They couldn't send flowers, so they staged something really tasteless.

The concert was to support Diana's favorite charities and for the UK to see that the influence Diana had on the world has not been forgotten and that her sons respect her memory and her spirit

I know; Diana was one in a million.

I thought the same thing when I heard of diddy showing up...I was like "huh? diddy didn't even know Diana!" LOL.
Until I found out that its actually a benefit concert to raise money for her charity. I think it also celebrates her death anniversary.

why not ? It's there right . Besides I think most of the part it was for a fund raiser of which two of the princes are heads of.

It is/was sponsored by her sons to honor her memory and as a side benefit to raise money for charity, something she used to be deeply involved with.

It's the Marilyn Monroe phenomenon. Keep her name alive at all costs. They're not Catholic so they can't make her a saint. This is the next best thing.

It will be her 10th anniversary since she passed and her sons wanted to do something their mother believed in and share the music she loved, she was the "people's princess".
