and I am very surprised there are so many nasty people who put them down when they need your support. Its disgusting and freaky to think people can put down a family who have had their daughter taken from them. I didn't know that we had so many perfect people in the world "except me" that have never made a mistake be it serious or otherwise. No body is perfect "except me" and one day those who put down this family will make a mistake of their own.... WATCH THIS SPACE.....

I have also noticed a bunch of creepy weirdos who put this family down in Yahoo answers.Notice the venom about the restaurant, the money collected and the excuse to be "on Madeline's side" but against her distraught brave parents. Why are there so many creeps in the world?

They did make a mistake, but laws have been past for many years now, not to leave young children alone. If they didn't put her in a child seat and they had a crash, would that be a mistake!

I think the answer is that people can be as nice as pie or as ugly as sin and still have a child taken from them. There are no absolutes here, people can say what they like.

I don't dislike a family I have never met,but I do judge them.Who in their right mind goes to a foreign country,and leaves 3 young children alone in a hotel room for hrs?
I hope Madeleine is found alive,but either way,these parents should be charged with child neglect.There is no excuse for their irresponsible behavior.

what is it you like about them ? tell us something positive about them ?
there is no evidence to suggest madeline was taken from them , this is the reason for the whole debate
yes we all make mistakes but this was not a mistake it was a concious decision , leaving a light on or forgetting to buy milk at the shop is a mistake
leaving 3 small children all alone in a hotel room is negligent

If, as you say, you like the McCann family, possibly you are personally acquainted with them. If so, please inform them that child neglect is against the law, and I sincerely hope that they will be returned to this country (UK) to face an official enquiry by Social Services - which is standard procedure for leaving little children alone and unprotected, - and referred to the CPS if appropriate. If they had taken proper care of their children, one would not now be missing.

I'm sorry, but yeh we will all make mistakes, but will we leave our kids in a foreign hotel on their own (which is against the law), while we go out to a restaurant, irrespective of distance. Especially when there is child-care facilities there. I really hope they find Maddie, although it is looking doubtful now. And punish the criminals AND her parents

Look, EVERYONE WANTS THAT KID BACK SAGE & SOUND. But you seem to be over looking a few points.
- THEY LEFT A THREE YEAR OLD IN CHARGE OF TWO YOUNGER KIDS SO THEY COULD GO OUT ON A JOLLY. This is NEGLECT AND ILLEAGAL
- They seem happy enough to go and leave their other two kids while they jet off here & there.
- People seem to be chucking money at them and if you read the details of the fund, it can be used for pretty much ANYTHING they want (Even if Maddy was found tomorrow)
- They seem to be acting VERY strangely on a number of different ways.

everybody might think they are perfect when they bringing children up but when children start making Friends it is always hard to keep a eye on where they are, i must say my son always let me know where he was going.
you've got to let them go out to play but this day and age it must be worrying for parents especially the ones that care.
