By Coincidence, I Recently bought a dell computer, and Spent a fair amount of Time researching the Dell XPS line. To be Honest, if you plan on simply Gaming most of the time with your PC, then go with the XPS. I was planning on getting one, but realized I could get a great Dell Dimension Desktop (Vista Powered) with 20" Widescreen Monitor, Intel Core 2 Duo Processer, and decent video and sound cards, with Office and 15 month security for Just under 2000 dollars. I've been gaming with it and games run absolutely perfect on it. However, XPS Is built on factory overclocked processers and strong graphics card. In the end, the way I saw it was Dimenson was a great all-purpose desktop, but XPS was hardcore gaming power.

Personally, I prefer to build my own PCs, and am not ready to give Vista a try. That way, I save money, know exactly what is installed on my machine, have all the disks and warranty information for each specific part, etc.

That being said, the XPS line is a good computer, if you have that kind of money to throw around. You should check Alienware to see if they have something better for the same price, or the same for lower price.

I have had a XPS M140 for over a year and the "B" key sticks, the power supply get's a bit hotter than I would like and the left 'mouse' button is broken.. and I use an EXTERNAL mouse most of the time.

It was expensive and I wouldn't buy another one.

It is a powerful system. The only thing I do not like about it is the company. The company is not the greatest.

xps systems are nice, but way too expensive, you can build a better one for less money.
