She's not ugly but the producers think by putting glasses on her and braces and bulking up her clothes, that somehow makes her ugly.
It's kind of an insult to people who wear glasses, braces and bulky clothes.

'Ugly Betty' is played by America Ferrera. Regardless of how ugly she is supposed to be, America Ferrera is too beautiful to play ugly. So, you're right ... she isn't ugly!!

well, in the show she is soooo ugly because she is suppossed to be hence the name of the show ugly betty. but in real life, america ferrera is gorgeous. she could lose a bit of weight but she adimtted that she likes her self that way and that is her opinon. either way she is gorgeous
