No. Oil will be with us for a long time. We have no alternative to its use. We could of course reduce our use of foreign oil, but that would require us to actually do something about it. Drill in Alaska, in the Gulf of Mexico(like the Cubans are), off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, make use of oil sand, and oil shale. The resistance to this commonsense solution from the anti-growth environmental movement would be intense. Despite the high paying jobs it would create, the tax revenue it would generate to fund important programs for Americans, many on the left would oppose it. It is curious that today we even import about 13% of our gasoilne, use food to make fule (ethanol) that causes starvation in the third world, and yet we allow the sactamounious hypocrites in the enviromental movenment to stop us from defunding terrorists who if they got their way would take away from the world everything liberal clami to hold dear.

No matter what you do there is no way to know if the money generated is going to support something immoral like terrorism. It simply isn't possible. I buy terrorist free gas, but do I follow the money trail to see if Osama is at the other end snickering at his marketing plan for higher revenues? No, I don't.
