I am gay and 18, just out of high school. my long-term boyfriend is in australia and i'm in the middle east. i want to go to him and continue my studies (i've been a topper since kindergarten) but i lack the funds, and i cant stay here because my family is going to disown me the moment i come out to them, and my life may be in danger. please help! any advice is welcome.

the problem is that none of the universities in melbourne offer a scholarship, and i dont really have anywhere else to go except for him.

i cant get a job because things are different here than the western world. no one hires a high school fresher. and i havent applied to any colleges yet because i cant afford to..

you are only18 and you got to make such a big decision in life. have you told your family about you relationship? sometime secret is better to keep it that way. since you know your family doesn't approved it then better not tell them. you have to slowly let them understand who you are and accept who you are. not easy but there are people who made it.
why not discuss with your lover. since he is the only one who can help you. you can stay with him? are you willing to give up everything you have now and go to him? maybe you should finish your study at home first then when you get older and able to stand on your own feet and support yourself then you go to your lover. well, the decision is still yours.

Look, since your family is going to hate you when you come out, you might as well take advantage of them. Don't tell them anything just yet, make them pay for a good school, get a degree, and once you graduate, move to a country where you can marry and therefore legally stay there.
Not ideal but if it's a matter of life and death I think it's a possibility.

Don't come out ..you've got a lifetime ... take it one day at a time. the only danger you will face is flaiming, give it time , your life is ahead of you UNLESS you come out ,,wait till things smooth out to come out ,, it seems unfair I know ,but so is being born different from your parents, and somehow you minuvered threw that , one day at a time , you only have to make it threw the day,, not the rest of your life ,, LATER you can start planning your life ,, minuver,, ,you can do it !!!
