I have a water leak outside of my house, likely under a brick sidewalk. Do I hire a standard plumber or someone with experience in landscape sprinkler systems?

Never have a plumber work on your sprinkler system...I think they make it look harder than it really is and just make a crappy repair. Let a sprinkler company fix the sprinklers. I have been out on several calls where the customer had had a plumber come out and fix a problem with the system, I ended up fixing thier screw ups.

Since the bricks will need to be removed anyways,(and you don't want to pay labor costs for that) why not Do It Yourself? The pipe is probably PVC so you won't have any serious problems fixing it.
