I make solar center sunset at 6:48 EDT, with true sunset (upper limb disappears) occurring at 6:50. That assumes a "perfect" horizon which seldom occurs inland.

For Hartford Connecticut at 6.37 am.
For East Windsor Mass 6.38 am.

6:37 am (Eastern) is obviously the sun RISE time
Sun SET is 6:48 pm.

6 pm by unadjusted time - in other words 6 pm by the sun's time
