without any form of introduction of your age location etc.. meaning just chat about anything under the sun without talking about yr personal details
i prefer that way but seems people are just interested in your age or sex! haha

I agree with you, I prefer anonymous chat, that way prejudices don't get in the way and there can be a free exchange of ideas and information without pre-conceived ideas getting in the way of what is actually being said.
If there is confusion one can simply ask. Good observation on the age and sex there. I've seen that too.

People are interested in your age or sex because they have in the back of their mind that perhaps your little chats could lead to a romance, but if you just want something like a pen pal chatter, then come out with it in your opening sentence. There are lots of folks out there that just want to rap too!

I don't think giving someone your age or sex is that important from the beginning. you can usually tell when someone is B.S.ing you after talking with them for a while. staying anonymous is safer but if and when you feel you can trust someone then you can reveal a little more about yourself.

Maybe I'm geographically-minded, but I like to know where someone lives, in a general way. Is it England, Colorado,NY? I see no harm in that. I don't care if they're old, young, male, or female--are they nice to talk to? I don't care about race or religion, either.

I seldom chat, and if I do it is almost always anonymous, otherwise it is just a long list of questions from them about who I know, and what they are like off camera...

i want to be familiar with the person by knowing their age and sex, and where they live, just so i can get things into perspective. but thats still not really getting to know someone, there is still a huge air of anonimity
