For me, it's some actors' desperate-and often futile-attempt to take their role seriously. Lol!

How they could be so dramatic about everything, even cheese. It's like:
Laura: "Bob...*long stare and turns around dramatically* I thought I told you to bring the cheese..."

Bob: " *walks towards but stops short and looks to the floor* I couldn't find- the store....it didn't have any more cheese! *looks up desperately*"

Laura: "but Bob! *turns back around quickly* You know I need my cheese!!"

I laugh hysterically at soap operas, especially Spanish ones! They're ten times more dramatic.

Funniest thing is when they change to actor or actress who plays a part. I don't watch them but I remember watching Y and R for a while years ago, and they change Jill mid-season, the two were so different. But the worst must have been when at first Nicholas was this skinny, little, wimpy, pasty, blonde hair kid, and then all of a sudden he is this
tall, muscular, tanned, strapping young MAN!!
So terribly wrong...its like they play it off, as if we won't know!!
Too Funny really!

Seriously there's nothing funny about soap operas , because it's all about the drama , the tragedy , etc and since I am getting pretty sick of it , I pretty much agree with the first answerer ( aka cptndaveahoe ) and snake eyes

But then again this is just my opinion , in other words no offense to those who love it

Yes. That is hilarious. Especially that guy on Days of Our Lives who plays John Black. He takes his role seriously. I also like the fact that certain characters never ever die. Even if they do die, they are not really dead. They will come back ten years later saying they somehow magically escaped that burning building.

Lol. I'd say the funniest thing is that it's too dramatic, like you said, the actors are definitely trying to be too serious.

The acting.... or lack of !! Good Lord, they are so bad.....I mean it's embarrassing. And some of the actresses obviously do their own make up and hair... and it's a mess. Now, with HD television, expect to see even more pimples and warts and stained teeth.

The fact that around 90% of the time the music is dramatic even if the person is happy.

it makes me laugh how these places are prob the roughest most violent places to live what with all the things that go on there and how people still wanna live there

how they all know each others business/eachother

how they have all they need in these little streets and never go outside them. they seem to not have lives outside of that street

I love the fact that none of them seem to have washing machines, they ALL go to the launderette, especially in Eastenders. And that none of them seem to be able to cook their own food they all eat out.
