If you would like to strike up a conversation with new people, then just come up to them and ask how was their week? or how are they? Just come off as really friendly and considerate. If you they give you one word answers and give off an "dont talk to me" attitidude then they are not worth your energy nor time. You are just being friendly and if they do not want that then its their loss at earning a new friend.

If you want to make real friends, join a club or a team. You'll have plenty in common and endless things to talk about. Within a few weeks, it will be as if you've been friends for life. Find something you really like to do, like a sport or a debating club, anything that involves activity and competition. I guarantee you'll have many new friends in a very short time.

It is hard to make new friends and it takes awhile. Join some kind of group and after about a month (I know that sounds like a long time, but it takes time you will get to know people.) you should start to get to know people. Go to church they often have young singles groups that go out to dinner, bowling, etc. Good luck

The best way to make friends is to be yourself and you will attract people are similiar to you. If you try to fit in you will start to feel miserable because that is not who you are. People will come to you, you wont have to go to them. People will begin to appreciate you, if you be yourself
