When we start running the shower, for the first 30 seconds approximately, the adjacent tub gurgles. The same thing has happened in another bathroom. When that tiolet is flushed the tub gurgles. Is this problem? Never have heard it before. Is this a potential problem in the making?

Thanks

It means there is a clog that hasn't quite closed off the pipe, somwhere in the part of the drain that is common to both the toilet and the tub.

Easier to get rid of it now than after it has completely clogged your drain.

Sounds like a clog starting in the sewer line. Check out your vent pipes, too.

There can be blockage in the drain or the air vent. Try some drain cleaner and if that does not work have a plumber check it out.
