I had my ultrasound on thursday which made me 18 weeks and 2 days, its a boy!! the doc said he measures up normal and that everything was good. She told me he weighs 8 ounces and in my pregnancy book it says my baby should wiegh 5.25 ounces. Does this mean im gonna have a big baby? Also I dont feel any movement yet but i seen him moving alot at the ultrasound, when should i start feeling movement?

CONGRATULATIONS! And no, just because he's a few ounces over average doesn't mean he's oing to be huge...ultrasound estimates are just that...estimates...and they can be off. And what you're reading in baby books? They're just averages. It's normal for babies to weigh several ounces more or less than that those books say. There is no set in stone rule about much of anything for pregnancy! So don't worry, you're not growing a giant! As for movement...you should begin to feel him move anytime now!The best time to feel those first kicks for me was either in a warm bath, or in bed, lying on my back after eating a snack and drinking some juice. Good luck!

Awww....congrats!!! Little boys are so adorable!!! If the doc said your baby is fine at 8 ounces, then that's what I'd stick with. The books and other info are based on average babies. And it takes babies of all different shapes and sizes to round out that average. And if you should be able to feel movement in the next few weeks. You may be feeling it now and just not be aware. My movement doesn't feel like the flutters everyone keeps talking about. More like a little poke. But if you can see your baby moving around in there, don't worry. Wasn't that the coolest think you've ever seen though? Amazing!!!

I am 19 weeks pregnant with a boy! i had my ultrasound friday and she said everything was good also! Congrats!

I feel LOTS of movement from my baby, I started feeling him at about 14 weeks but no its much more frequent and much stronger!

You should start feeling your baby within the next 2 weeks or so, all babies are diffrent, and depending on your weight, i am petite so my doc told me that is proably why i felt it early but who knows, just give it a couple more weeks, DONT WORRY.

No the babies size doesnt really mean your going to have a big baby, but you may.......

Like i said all babies are diffrent and the baby books arent 100 percent correct anyway.......

GOOD LUCK!

That is so cool I thought you would atleast be feeling them move before you new what sex they were. I honestly believe all babies are different. Some start out a little faster and end up a little slower and vice versa. Dont worry If you havent even felt him move yet he isnt gonna cause you to much trouble. Good luck and Congratulations. I am 10 weeks and hoping for a boy

yes not to frighten you but it sounds as though you will have a big baby since it is already above average . you should start feeling movement in a couple of weeks . good luck to you and congrats on the baby .

don't sweet it- the size includes the fluid around the baby i think and the reason the you don't feel anything yet is the he is still to small- you will know what he moves it will feel like a butterfly in you tummy- as for being to big, the baby's growth is slow, they pack on wieght in the last month of you perggnanty

You probably have felt it but not realized it yet... Do you feel like a butterfly is in your stomach??? That is what it feels like at first... My daughter weighed more than she should, but all was fine... She weighed 9lbs at birth, which is consider a little big but not HUGE!!! I wish you luck and at least you know your baby is going to be healthy boy, and maybe even chunky!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

My OB tells me that ultrasound measurements for size are not very accurate as you get further along, so don't worry about it too much. My baby is measuring over 2 weeks bigger. . .but I figure that's better than him being underdeveloped!

you should have already been feeling him move,if its your first baby , you might not know what it feels like , and so think its something else,
it feels sorta like a feather brushing on you skin, only on the inside, anyway, Ive been pregnant 9 times, and that how it felt to be, good luck
