We put our house on the market this past week and have had 2 showings so far, but no bites. Our home is clean, remodeled with fresh paint (outside and in), new carpet, very organized, and I have air freshners all over the place. It has a basement (semi finished), two car garage (detached), four bedrooms, big deck, and fully fenced yard. Best of all, it is priced lower than other homes in our area that have sold for much more in the past 6 months. Why don't people want our house!?

I did forget to add, we have done extensive work on the yard. The front has great curb appeal, but the back is just a bit beat up because we have two large labs. But we are growing grass in just a few small areas that were bald because of the dogs digging. We are trying SO HARD to sell because we want our new home SO BAD!!!

I'm not sure I can take the pressure of selling a home. THIS SUCKS!

PRICE and LOCATION are the two biggest things in buying and or selling a house. So if the price is lower as you say then I would think maybe it is the location. It sounds like it is in good shape with nothing that needs doing except the backyard. So again I would think the location. MAYBE and this is MAYBE, the size will also play a part in the selling. If it is too big or small this will also affect the selling.

Thats a hard question, one we asked ourselves last summer.
Could it be locale, is it near stuff? Is the yard kept up?
Its really hard to say....What does your realtor say?? Make sure to keep in close contact with him or her. Ask the realtor for feedback after showings, what are the people saying?
What could you do extra? They should be able to give you a good idea...if not maybe a different realtor could---if you know what I mean, honestly, that was our trouble...bad realtor!
But I'd say after 2 showings and only 1 week I wouldn't worry too much. But definitely voice your concerns.
I've always heard the first month is the most important. After that, then you may have to change the price or something but until then hold on, your place sounds nice and I'm sure the right people will come along very soon.
Has it been advertised, will he have an open house, in your area do the realtors have a realtor showing so they all know and can tell their clients???
Oh and they say the most important places to keep immaculate and tidy is the kitchen and the bathroom, second
only to the front entrance!!

Best of Luck---I'm sure it will work out for you!

i have a suggestion that might help, if your there when they show it ask the prospective buyers to tell you what they like or dislike or make up a written survey and ask what they think you should change...sometimes couples want more bed rooms or a different lay out,,and hows the yard is it neat and groomed like your house..i would try another real estate agent too might be the seller has no skills . that happens. if worse comes to worse try marketing it on the rental property for sale . or as a fixer upper...im trying to help here let me know what happens please im intrested

It's a buyers' market right now in many places and homes are just not selling. I sold my home in a buyers' market and it took about a month and a half. Good luck.

Hide the air fresheners. People may think the house is stinky or MOLDY when the air fresheners are not present.
