I wasn't ignored...Although it felt like it was more a conditional love at times...As long as I was doing well in school, etc...The product of having 4 brothers before me, the oldest 2 who excelled further academically than the other two...or me...

too busy with work so they ignored me but not on purpose
then they divorced and i lived with my mum
she passed away on my 19th birthday, leaving me to care for my 2 younger sisters
but i can cope with all that, because i've been doing it since i was young
so i think if kids were ignored as a child, it MIGHT make them an independent adult

My parents showed love for me, but it was very conditional. I was only worthy of love if I was a good girl, if I was perfect.

I was loved. My mother played the role of both father and mother to three kids. I think she did a wonderful job. I tell her this everyday.
