With the racist comment you have made here, I don't believe it would be safe for you. Plus it is against the law to bring in meds from Mexico.

Keep in mind that a US prescription is invalid in Mexico. A press release was issued by the US Food and Drug Administration that expressed concern over "counterfeit" and "substandard" medicines in Mexico.

I would be more worried about the meds than the city.
Be careful of the rxs down there, may not be the same ingredients! I was there a few months ago, it was really cleaned up. lots of police presence, still kind of scuzzy, but feels a lot safer during the DAY. Plus make sure you don't go alone, remember even thouygh it's close to us in S.D, it is still not our country! Also, make sure yoou have proper I.D, they are very strict about crossing back into USA, they threatened not to let my kids back in because they didn't have I.D, even though they are white as snow!!!

OK lets see i am mexican and i just happen to go to T.J .every weekend and pick up some meds for like coughs or the flu and i take them all the the time. for you to bring meds over is a different question and i think the answer is yes if you go though the otay border and don't get secondary inspection then you will be fine.
