hey everyone, i am 19 weeks pregnant with my first (A BOY), and getting bigger, i have these bad leg cramps on and off, and as of right now i am having one in my left leg that doesnt seem to want to subside.

ANYONE know any ways to treat this, i am in so much pain. I cant lay down because it hurts worse when i do, I do alot of walking, could that be why they hurt? I am going to cut down the walking to early morning walk at the park, instead of ALOT of walking through out the day.

I am also petite weighing 126 punds, could that be why my back hurts sometimes? It was so bad last night i was crying.

Will i gain more weight? so far i have gained back about 6 pounds since i lost alot of weight due to morning sickness, is this normal?
I feel so skinny to be pregnant.

Why am i so emtional? I just get so upset over small things, i start to cry or i get really upset, and it is starting to irritate me. I just feel so weird, I feel like a big baby.

Please help! Thanks!

Your leg cramps are caused by the * condidtions:
Muscle fatigue *
Heavy exercising
Dehydration *
High weight (not necessarily obesity) *
Electrolyte imbalances *
Medications (statins, prednisone, others...)

Drink more liquids and gator aid and other types of sports drinks.

Let us know in a week if you are still having them.

For the leg cramps try taking extra calcium. I have been on calcium for months and havent had a leg cramp since, I take megacal chews they are chocolate flavor. You can also try banannas, but they didnt help me at all. As for your back it could be your sciatic nerve, is it in your lower back and tail bone? Does it shoot pain into your leg? If so it is your sciatic and you will need to see someone to help with the pain. I found that if my husband massaged my bum (sounds weird I know) It would feel better. You can also go to the Chiropractor.

It is normal to lose weight from morning sickness, dont worry you will gain more weight. The emotions are normal as well, and should balance out soon. Good Luck, and try not to worry much.

first thing i would do to try and help the cramps would be to drink more water (even if you're already drinking alot) also, the potassium in bananas will help. have a banana a day.
your back hurts because that's what they do when you're pregnant. just like when you get your period, you tend to get achy in the back
you will gain weight, even if you don't eat more. the baby doubles in size in the third tri. just keep a healthy diet and keep yourself properly hydrated.
the hormonal changes are causing your emotional outbreaks. give yourself a break, your body is doing a lot of work right now, don't expect to be your same old cheerful self.

get lots of rest. pamper yourself with anything that helps you relax... smelly candles, lots of lotion, ice cream... soothing music. a happy mommy make a happy baby. enjoy this time and try not to worry too much, although worrying is absolutely natural

congratulations and God bless!

I shave my legs every day, it's just a part of my shower routine. It's so ingrained in my routine that even if for some reason I took two showers in a day, (like if I got dirty or sweaty outside) I would shave my legs both times. I almost don't even think about it...I just do it.

It's because you need to keep water in your system.. Also sleep with a pillow between your legs that will help your legs and your back.. I like the body pillows the most

Advise from my doc...you could stand and try holding on to table or something stable...then try stretching your leg. You could try taking calcium, it helps. At least in works on me. You are so emotional was due to hormone change. Talk to your friends or husband when you feel upset.

All the best

Warm washclothes and water bottles on them might help. Eat some comfort food. Relax. Drink plenty of water, sleep well, and work out what you can.

Eat a banana every day for potassium. OR, talk to your Doctor.
