XP then
First right click on the desktop and then left click on Properties from the menu that appears.
The Display properties dialogue box will appear, click on the Desktop tab.
Select the picture you want, click apply, click ok!

well if you have a mac...do u? ok. Go to the apple menu (the one with the apple icon) in the top left hand corner of your screen. Under that click "system preferences". Then on the menu that appears click desktop and screensavers. make sure that whatever picture you want is either on your desktop or in a folder that you know of. There's a little bar thing on the lefthand side of ur screen in the desktop menu. Click choose folder. then if your pics on the desktop click desktop or whatever folder your pic is in. Then click on the picture and there. your old desktop should be back. good luck! hope this helped.

RIGHT click on your desktop, LEFT click on Properties, LEFT click the desktop tab, LEFT click your selection, OK, Save the change.

All Programs
Accessories
System Tool
System Restore
Restore computer to earlier time
Click calander to 1 Week Previous to now
And click to run it.
This might help, and it can't hurt.

It looks like your computer is infected with a virus. Get and run an antivirus (AVG free) and a spyware removal tool (Spybot - free). I did it last week on a computer with much the same symptoms which appeared after the owner visited some adult sites. It worked like a charm. Takes a couple of hours though.

You can always try downloading a picture, right clicking on it in your OS, and then setting it as the background.
