We have a large great room with Cathedrial ceilings, it actual blends right into the kitchen and we are planning on painting it yellow. But I can't decide which shade. I want it to look classic calm and warm but it seems each shade I think looks that way ends up being to bright. Any suggestions? Should I go more blue more red more green to get the best shade of yellow for what I'm wanting? HELP!
The company we hired uses Sherwin-Williams paint

a light pastel yellow, matte finish, not shiny gloss, its classic and soothing & goes with most any other colors...You can tone it down by using bold or dark colors on accessories or trims..good luck!

Personally, I would not want a wall to be yellow, but I agree that you don't want the wall to be too bright. You may want to try a yellow that is almost white. Just remember that paint that is in the can will not dry the same color on the wall. I do not know what colors are in your house, but you would want a color that would compliment your home. If you have a large room, it is okay to go with dark colors. I am sorry that I could not be much of a help.

Your great room could be in a heat tone and your kitchen faces the south which might call for a cooler tone, yet for the reason which you do not have an incredible form of sunshine there, i might evaluate it to be the comparable as a northern room. And, for the reason that your great room is the better section, i might base my determination on that. i think of that the useful yellow is in basic terms too bright whether it confirmed as a mustard. i think of the Lemon Chiffon is somewhat too mild. i think of the Lily is in basic terms too mild. evaluate here: Sunbeam yellow #0078 or the renovation yellow #0030. i like the Solaria and the Benjamin Moore Dijon #193 additionally. And yellows are complicated colorings to locate the ideal one. Sherwin Williams has a low VOC and you in addition to could do no longer could bypass via what the painter many times makes use of. it is your place. you are able to order some bigger samples, get 3 great ones of each and every to furnish you a good thought. seem at them numerous situations an afternoon for a pair of days. somewhat in the time of day which you would be making use of the room the main. you additionally can paint a white foam center board a pair of coats and go away it around and circulate it to diverse factors. What colorings are on your countertop and on your fixtures fabric. image the entire factor at the same time. confident, as quickly as your fixtures and paintings is in place, each and everything would be advantageous.

Mix some white paint in with the yellow. It should take some of the brightness out.

Our living room is painted in a cream-colored yellow. It doesn't really even look yellow, but is much better than plain white. It's warm and it doesn't hurt your eyes to look at it.

If you want it warm and not too bright, go with a yellow that has more beige, cream, or brown in it.

If it's a large room, don't go with a darker yellow. You should do a creamy yellow.
