I have so many interests that I'm rarely bored, though. I like to read, hike, bake, do tapestry work, bike, paint, sew, get on the computer, go to the library, go to a coffeehouse, see a movie, etc. etc. My problem is that there are never enough hours in the day.

Maybe, if you're bored, you need to just DO something. Easier said than done, I know, but that's the key to it. I think most people, though, confuse being bored with untreated depression, and that inability TO get out and do things makes them feel empty and...bored....

I live in NYC, so I basically just go for a walk.

You always see something new, something interesting, something different. Even if you don't happen to live in such a luxurious place as NYC, you can make anywhere more interesting. I like to make mini-goals for the day.

Take 20 pictures with a digital camera of nature.

Walk 3 miles then have lunch.

Snag

You're bored because you are not putting enough stuff that is worthwhile into your head. Standing in line waiting for a train is a nightmare if your head is empty.
The best solution is to realize something you are interested in and then learn everything you can about whatever that is.
When I was a child, I did not know anyone who was bored because they were too busy thinking.
One boy had memorized all the cricket players in the 20th century, their scores, their great days. He told me he used to try to play their games in his head.
Try it.

Wow... i have so many hobbies that i can't keep up with them (time-wise or financially). Perhaps all you need do is explore some new interests.
Some of mine are: tv, movies, anime, manga, reading, drawing, listening to music, video games, hiking, camping, girl-watchin', visiting pet stores, shopping in-general, long walks, climbing, Yahoo Answers, art browsing, swimming, writing, biking, and lots of other stuff. It may sound pedestrian and boring to many, but it keeps me out of trouble.
i hope you can find stuff to enjoy. Good luck!
