Can anyone tell me about mosquitoes on Mount Everest?

I am going a little bit further than Everest Base Camp so would like to know how high mosquitoes fly on the mountain, what time of day they are most of a problem and any information about their existence at Everest Base Camp.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There is a species of Alpine mosquitoes that live in high altitudes, they could cause a problem at the base camp, but can only live below 20,000 feet (Everest is 30,000 feet)

They have been sighted there but its not a common occurrence. They generally aren't active above 55 degrees. It would largely depend on if they have the standing water they need to breed.
