Both are comparable.
Both are build and last times rebuild the same time.
Both have many world famous sights, museums, shops, restaurants, entertainment and so on, both have a river to take a cruise on, both have several famous cathedrals and churches.

The main difference is the language.
You will find that most people in Paris speak (a little) English, while the people in London do not speak French.

Best go to the town that attracts you most, do not listen to "them" do your own thing, you will regret it if you went to the one while your hart said the other.

Paris will be a bit more of an adventure due to the difference in language while London might be a little more 'known' if you read stories that play there.

Not many differences. I do think that in Paris there is much more to see ...and London is right now not the safest place to go visit.
I have been in both cities and found Paris the most exciting. Learn some French though, it will help you!
Happy travelings!
