why in F1 all the teams cover their tires with a black cover before entering the track

it warms up the tires..

tires are most effective when warm.. this is also the reason the drivers swerve back and forth when they are under a caution flag.. it keeps the tires warm...

the warmer a tire is, the better it sticks to the track, the better it sticks to the track, the faster they can take the turns..

They're heat blankets; F1 tires have to be pretty hot to work properly, the blankets help.
