Samsung rams are good and reliable, however if you intend to overclock, then they will not yield much result. Their latencies are not the best either. Basically, if you intend to overclock your system, then you'll need to look at Corsair, Mushkin, OCZ, Crucial and Kingston. However, if you only need to increase your ram amount and are looking for a pair of reliable ram, Samsung RAMS will do the job just fine.

I suppose I must be using some as I have a Samsung printer. As the printer is several years old then I must conclude that it is reliable.

All RAM is not created equal.
Kingston is the best, but in some respects it is more expensive.
Considering RAM is the cheapest upgrade for a computer to get the most BANG for yer BUCK, I would buy higher quality vs cheaper.
Remeber: You get what you pay for, buy cheap, get cheap.
