Those are hard color combinations to work with and still make into a surf theme. Are you going to paint the walls? Change the rug?

If so, maybe an ocean mural on your walls will help. You could leave some of the orange to be a setting sun if you like, but rolling waves coming into shore might be a nice effect. If you like them, maybe one wall could have a lighthouse on it, perched on a hill.

If this isn't possible, maybe you can find some seashells to decorate your room. Use a few large conch shells as bookends. Get a picture frame and put shells on it's border with a nice ocean pic or something else similar that you like. If you have a lamp in your room, maybe you can get a lot of pooka shells (i think that's how they're spelled) and cover it with those...using a glue gun, to hold them in place. If there are any ships or boats near you, maybe you can rummage and find an old fishing net that no one wants anymore. You can either use this to hold items you cherish, or you can drape it in a corner on the wall or over a piece of furniture. Putting up a few shells in this area and maybe a realistic looking star fish will complete the look. If you're going for the surfer look, a surf board or a mural or pic of a surfer would help with that.

Basically, the first step is to identify what exactly you want in your room, then go get it and put it where it looks best. It might take some time to find all these things, but I'm sure you can find almost anything if you look hard enough. Also, Ebay is international, so you might look there for some supplies.

Let me know how it turns out. Good luck. :)

This is cool. You can take this as far as you want! :-D
To go all out, make a small surfboard from wood or anything you think of, to hang from the ceiling. Use some old fishing net and hang sea shells in it. IF, you can get access to an overhead projector. You can actually take pictures of Sunsets and ocean and then take the pictures to a Photo shop and they make you transparencies. Project them on yours walls and paint in the colors. Sort of like a paint by numbers deal. Heck, you can buy CDs of ocean waves and have it play in the back ground and still have your stereo. It endless what you can do. You can even make a 1/2 boat to hang on a wall with you murals for a 3-D effect!

looks like your gonna have to start getting all your stuff from e-bay lol!

You could try and buy a surfboard rug and put that on the floor, even if you already have a carpet.

a palmtree or surfboard lamp/table lamp could really add something, along with surfy blankets and pillows.

if you have a window, you could buy a few seashells and put them on the window panel.

you could also get a vase and put fake hibiscus flowers in it.

umm...

surf posters could definatly help...

mirrors can help make the room look bigger, and you can stick lots of stickers and small pictures of people surfing on the mirror. i did this in my room once and it looked so neat!

a surfing calender wouldnt hurt!

also keeping your boardwax and stuff on desks could really add to the surfy-ness of the room. even if you got an extra ankle harness and put that on your door could make things seem surfy. i dont know if you surf, but those things are what make up a surfers room lol
