A JP ceremony in the court house is pretty generic. However, the most important thing is the one standing beside you. It's lovely that you can have all your children with you as well. You can basically wear anything, but I would wear something that makes you feel as if it's a special occasion. How about a pretty summer dress....it could even be white or have a floral design on it. Carry a bouquet - these are simple to make yourself with florist wire and tape. If you have little girls, let them carry a tiny bouquet as well. Don't forget to take pictures. Just because you got the kids before the vows doesn't mean that this day is not special!

Its a whole lot less formal than a church wedding. No wedding dress neded nor tuxes, just something nice and appropiate. You and any wtnesses you have, including the kids, appear before the JP and perform the ceremony quick and simple without the church musi and such and then your wed and go about your business afterwards. A whole lot cheaper but dont forget to tip the JP as its customary and best of wishes to you all

I'm pretty sure it's pretty simple. Have you thought of just having a ceremony at your home with just your close friends.

My hubby and I have 6 kids. We had our ceremony at a friend's house, in her yard. The kids baked the cake and decorated it for us. We all wore jeans and grey t-shirts. We got the kids disposable cameras so they could be the "photographers". It was a really awesome day and one we all remember and still look back on with a smile.

It cost us practically nothing. A few bucks for cameras and cake mix. A friend of ours video taped it for us for free. It was just awesome!

Something to consider.

You wear clothes, it's short, about 15 minutes at most. It is prett much cut and dry. You'll have papers to sign. And that's it.

It is short and sweet, and that also describes what you wear.
