Ok, the skin color is a whitish color and it has a brown shell. It has small black or dark brown spots on its face, neck and arms. I have pics but I don't know how to post them.

Just from your description it sounds an awful lot like an ornate diamondback terrapin. try looking at one of these on the web to see if the turtle you're talking about looks like them. you can email me your pic if you'd like, also.

It's really all personal preference ... To some degree it's society and what a person was raised with, but it still comes back to personal preference. A guy could be raised only around white folk and so would never be attracted to a dark skinned woman because she's just too different from what he's used to ... OR the same guy could find dark skinned women even more attractive because he finds them "exotic." I don't think you're going to find a satisfactory answer to this question except that you haven't met the right guy(s) for you. *shrug*

What do the feet look like? Webbed or not webbed? Does the shell have a hinge that closes up when the turtle pulls its head in?

It sounds like you are describing a Diamondback Terrapin (DBT); Here is a great picture http://www.dnr.sc.gov/marine/mrri/acechar/specgal/image/photos/terrapin.jpg

To post, join a free site like www. photobucket.com and then click upload a photo and afterwards it will give you an html code and a link..post the link and you can show the photo..

You can post your photos to a free photo-sharing site like http://www.photobucket.com to share here.

You can also try the World of Turtles gallery at http://www.austinsturtlepage.com to see if you can locate it.

If you found it in the wild, try to google "(your state) turtles). Most states have a site that shows local wildlife.
