Service starts into the right hand court with each game, so if a score of deuce is reached (40-40, or an even number of points scored in the game), service will be to that court. If a score of advantage is reached (or an odd number of points have been scored), service will be to the left hand court for each player, so it is referred to as the ad court.

You have to switch each point, unless you miss you first serve then you get a second serve on the same side, if you miss both serves you go to the other side. If you win or lose the point, you switch sides. If a let occurs you restart the point from the side you started the point on
