There are lots of very rare metals, and prices for them are hard to obtain. This first list is what's considered "precious metals." I've included a list of commodity metals as a comparison.

Rhodium (almost $6000 per ounce)
Rhenium (almost $6000 per ounce)
Platinum (about $1400)
Gold ($650)
Iridium ($425)
Palladium ($375)
Osmium ($360)
Ruthenium ($350)
Thallium ($50)
Silver ($13)

As a comparison ...

Nickel ($16/pound)
Cadmium ($12/pound)
Tin ($6/pound)
Copper ($3.50/pound)
Zinc ($1.50/pound))
