Well, I think it depends on where you live and on the size and content of the ceremony. We just got married and we live in a small town in upstate NY as well.. The minister came to our house and we "donated" $50. It was a small ceremony...fairly quick...20 minutes. I hope this helps.

I would guess on average about $100. I live in a small PA town, and we gave him $50, but we also were on a very tight budget, and he knew that as well, we cut a lot of corners! CONGRATS on getting married! :) hope you two have a wonderful and happy life together!!

I live in a small town as well and we gave him $100. You have to remember we're a little further south too.
