My co-worker (female) is whining about how the guys at work go to lunch every day and exclude her. She says "they is my boyz", cusses with them, smokes with them and flirts/cuts up with them every day. One day she asked them to bring her some food, and they didn't. She said she thinks it is a "racial" matter and wouldn't speak to them for the rest of the day.

In my opinion, they are just being guys, hanging out together for lunch. I also suspect that they don't really respect her.

What do you think is going on?

I agree with your analysis completely; especially the part about they don't really respect her. Under the circumstances you describe, I couldn't take a woman seriously either.

She needs to find her feminine dignity and wear it.

The shame of the matter is that she has brought up the race part as a smokescreen over the fact that she can't be masculine and she can't be taken serously femininely.

AND she wants the guys to figure it out and understand her behavior ???

My best advise to her is this:

1. Groom immaculately
2. Dress nicely
3. Work harder than ever & use only business English
4. Don’t use profanity
5. Spend an hour a day in the library
6. Spend an hour a day at the gym
7. Honor her parents and her boss
9. Volunteer a few hours a week for a worthy cause
10. Help someone every day
11. Go to Church
12. Invite her friends to Church
13. No profanity
14. SMILE
15. Speak badly of no one

Good Luck to both of you....

I don't believe it's racial. If the guy's are smart they will watch where they step. I believe guy's can get into more trouble with sexual harassment then the female. I had a female flirt with me, I inturn asked her out, she reported me for sexual harassment, when the opposite sex rubs them selves up against you constantly, to me thats flirting. I believe she's flirting and their not taking the bait.

well maybe there not looking at her like a lady to respect her,i mean shes acting like a guy so there not goin to respect her,and when they didnt bring her anything back to eat that shouldve told her to leave them alone, most men dont like it when a woman tries to hang out with them, guys like there alone time with there friends without a woman there, and no they wont respect her if shes cusses with them either, doesnt sound like a woman i would want to talk to. i dont think its a racial matter at all.

Us guys most of the time will hang out with other guys at work and telling us to do something is not the good way to hang out with us.She just fels left out maybe. You could hang out with her.
