The official story is that we weren't in the war as yet and to accept refugees might be construed as an act os war.We were still isolationists inspite of what was being heard abot what was hapening i n Europe of course,Pearl Harbor changed all that, but the history books you get in shcool don't tell you the full story of what was yet another blemish on our nation's history, right up there with slavery

Most of President FDR's cabinet and way too many in congress were anti Semites, Jew haters. So was big business here. Both the Bush family and the Kenndey families were huge supporters of the Nazis. They actually helped to finance the Nazi operations to take over the world and carry out iots missions.
If this seems alaraming, then on Yahoo search or googl,e look upo Bush Family Secrets. Your eyes will pop out.
During WW2 those in power in the USA had been taught that Jews caused Christ's death a few thousand years earlier. The elimination of Jews who they hated based on what they were taught by their parents and society was nothing new.
Only 26 years back or so did the Catholic Church say that the Jews were NOT responsible for Christ's death. Most people world wide still believe the Jews did kill Christ, because they continue to read the new testament as if it were a history book of facts, rather than a spiritual book of lessons.

There were several reasons. President Roosevelt did want the world to think that we were in the war to protect the Jews.
He was pressured by a few anti-semitic people in the State Department not to become involved. He was influenced by Joseph Kennedy who was serving as the Ambassador to England at the time and was very anti-semitic.
The world watched the Holocaust and waited until they felt it would soon be their turn.
There are countries today that are enduring their own Holocaust and we are once again, even with the United Nations, doing very little, if anything.

you opt to work out a e book printed around 1976, "whilst Six Million Died". I even have in no way got here upon it however the thesis became that Roosevelt and Churchill stood via whilst the Nazis murdered the Jews whilst they could have performed lots greater. additionally see, "Commandant of Auswitch" via Rudolph Hoess which he wrote whilst waiting for warfare crimes trial in Poland. In it he claims he had status orders to launch any Jew who had secured an front visa into yet another country, to the tip of the warfare. The prosecution of the warfare became greater significant than the ferrying of displaced persons. it is, delivery became strained to the max for the warfare attempt and to point a diversion for rescuing all of us from Europe might have cramped the warfare. If the Allies (meaning the U. S., as we provided an incredible form of the delivery) sought to rescue Jews somewhat of prosecuting the warfare; in the slightest degree the warfare could have been prolonged, and on the main we could have been defeated via Russia dropping by the wayside. So the anwser to the question could be we did the excellent we could with what we had. it is often problem to revisionist thinking, it truly is a hugely greater handy job than what chief of team George Marshall had for the duration of the warfare. See the above books for greater on the problem. Sorry approximately turning the spell examine off, too stressful.

The government today is similar to conditions and decisions during WW!!, the government is absolutely going against what the citizens want. Then the citizens wanted to give refuge to these Jews and the government said, "NO." It is nothing to us how many die out there on the ocean, now it is, it makes no difference what Obamacare may cost the people, they get whether they want it to not., whether it benefits them or it costs millions of lives as well as dollars. It has already cot millions and no telling how much more it will cost before it is destroyed or rammed down our throats.
Oh yes we allowed about 124,000 out of the millions, what a generous deed!!!

the official reason given by the government is not known to me. i suspect it was national security. i do know that Germany was not the only nation not to want the Jews in there land. the Jews were very unpopular around the world. i know that not all the people of Canada were in favour of not letting them in . my mother was old enough then to understand all of what was going on in the war and the news and she told me that she thought it was terrible to let them come in as well her father a minister was very much in support of allowing them to at least come and stay for a time . this was as far as i know the view of many Christan's here in Canada.
i suspect that this will come again in the future not the near future and maybe not in my life time but at some point the people will again become displeased with the Jews.
one thing i can say is that the actions at that time have caused the government to currently not go so far as to stop the immigration of Muslims into Canada. i don't support that i would prefer if we did not let anymore Muslims into north America .
the reasons are much different as they are a threat to national security and do kill others as we all know. i dint know of any case in which the Jews were active in terrorism during or before world war 2
