Many recycling yards sell batteries that have been removed from vehicles. They usually are priced in the $20-$25 range. If they pass a load test, they are fine to use in your vehicle.
If you have a car that you do not plan on keeping for a long time, one of these batteries may be a good deal for you. If you are planning on keeping the car for several more years, you may want to look into a new battery.

A used [ no such thing as refurbished] battery can last 1 min to many years, You must first inspect your wallet, the cost of a used battery may differ from yard to yard, Maybe up to $20.00. It's only guaranteed to start your car once when you put it in at the yard or no guarantee if you take it home to install yourself. On the other hand if you put a few more dollars to the cost of that used battery you could find a good deal on a new battery with a real guarantee, should it not work you would get a free or discounted replacement. why buy something cheap twice when you could buy something good once.

Go to a battery shop and ask for a recharged battery.
It will be as good as new, but 1/2 the cost.

Why would you want a battery that you have no knowledge on? Buy a new one so that you know there won't be any problems with it. Nothing worse than getting stranded somewhere because you put something in your vehicle thinking it was good and it turns out to be a piece of junk.

Remember every battery in the junkyard probably had a hell
of a jolt in the accident that put it there, there could be internal
damage.

when it comes to your electrical system and especially your battery you want to replace it with new parts autozone has lifetime warranties on some of its batteries which makes it a one time expense if you ever have to replace it its free no questions asked. i think wal mart also has lifetime warranties
you dont know what you are getting at the junk yard and they dont garantee any parts at all

yes about $15-$25 but your never sure what your getting. I would recommend getting a new one on sale for the difference in price and knowing you have a warranty. Check out a few auto parts chains store ads.
