I am 14 years old and have never had a period before. But yesterday and today there is a lot of brown blood in my underwear. This is weird. Isn't period blood meant to be red? Whats happening? Is there something wrong?

It's totally normal. It will turn red when you start to get heavier periods (first periods are usually pretty light), but it's still very common to have brownish spotting at the beginning and end of your period.

By the way, congratulations!

That's normal. Usually brown blood is connsidered "old" blood. The blood may just be taking a long time to get out of you and is actually oxidizing before it exits. Nothing to worry about.

Yes it's normal..it's called spotting. It appears before our period and sometimes in the middle of our cycle for various reasons. The website I'm enclosing is listing all the different kind of discharge a woman may have.

there's nothing wrong. on the 1st day of ur period (and any periods after that), u usually get this brown stuff before you get the red. think of it almost like a warning to go get a pad (or tampon if u can use them) before it get's red.

This will be your first period. The colour, flow, and regularity will change as time goes on.
